Nathaniel Lowe and Chris Stratton became the latest Mississippi State alumni to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy as winners of the World Series this season with the Texas Rangers.

Lowe and Stratton became the sixth and seventh Diamond Dogs to win a World Series joining Hugh Critz (1933 New York Giants), Del Unser (1980 Philadelphia Phillies), Jay Powell (1997 Florida Marlins), Jonathan Papelbon (2007 Boston Red Sox) and Mitch Moreland (2018 Boston Red Sox).

MSU led the country with seven players in this year's playoffs. The Bulldogs had 43 former players participate in professional baseball this season, 15 of which competed or coached at the Major League level. Among those Bulldogs in the Big Leagues are former All-Stars Adam Frazier, Brandon Woodruff (2x) and Brent Rooker, first-round draft picks Rooker, Stratton, Jordan Westburg, Dakota Hudson, Hunter Renfroe and Ethan Small along with four-time Manager of the Year Buck Showalter.
