Volleyball Begins Busy Week At Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – Mississippi State's volleyball team embarks on three matches over the next five days as the Bulldogs end September with a midweek road tilt versus Auburn Wednesday at the Neville Arena.
First serve is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be televised nationally by the SEC Network, with live stats available through StatBroadcast.
"For Auburn, we want to win the serving pass game, serve super tough, and take care of the ball," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said." We are going to get our middles involved early so our pins can get going in those late clutch situations. We are going to want to go as fast as possible, for as long as possible"
Mississippi State ranks among the SEC's top five in digs per set (15.61 – 2nd), kills per set (13.98 – 3rd) and assists per set (13.17 – 3rd). The Bulldogs have connected for a .269 hitting percentage, which is ranked fifth in the SEC standings.
Gabby Coulter has distributed 10.20 assists per set on the season, which ranks third among SEC setters. Coulter has dished out 418 assists on the season, coupled with 116 digs. She has also cranked out six double-doubles this year. Her latest double-double came against Georgia (09/21) with 44 assists and 14 digs.Â
Gabby Waden has powered home a team-leading 3.71 kills per set on a .325 hitting percentage. She has totaled 10-plus kills during 10 of her last 11 outings, headed by a 25-kill effort against Houston (09/09). Waden has produced two double-doubles on the season, recording 12 kills and 14 digs against Milwaukee (08/26) and 12 kills and 12 digs
against South Alabama (09/10).
Lauren Myrick has belted 3.32 kills per set to go along with 2.15 digs and 0.24 aces per set. Myrick has collected three double-doubles this year and posted a season-high of 18 kills against Ball State (09/03). Her three double-doubles came in consecutive matches against Houston (09/09) with 14 kills and 11 digs, 11 kills and 15 digs against South Alabama (09/10), and 12 kills and 12 digs against Bowling Green (09/15).
Shania Cromartie has registered 2.57 kills and 1.81 digs per set. Her 2.57 kills per set are ranked third on the squad, behind Waden and Myrick. Sania Petties has chipped in 1.84 kills and 0.65 blocks per set. Petties has compiled a .362 attacking percentage, which is ranked seventh in the SEC rankings.
Rebecca Walk has registered 1.87 kills and 0.70 blocks per set in the nine matches she has appeared in this season.
Deja Robinson has tucked away a team-leading 1.09 blocks per set, while recording 1.57 kills per set.
Lilly Gunter has sprawled out 10-plus digs in 10 of her 11 starts and has recorded 165 digs on the season. Gunter's 4.02 digs per set rank fourth among SEC liberos and first on the MSU squad.
