Multiple Bulldogs Improve Personal Times in Season’s Second Race

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Three Bulldogs improved their time from the season-opening race and one freshman made her collegiate debut on Friday morning as the Mississippi State cross country team competed at the North Alabama Showcase.
"For those that competed today, I think they all ran well," head track and field coach Chris Woods said. "We look forward to having our full squad back and ready for our next race in a couple of weeks."
In her first race as a Bulldog, freshman Madison Jones was the first State runner to cross the line. The Saltillo, Mississippi, native finished in the top-50 with a time of 17:53.68. Fellow freshman Hunter Anderson improved her time from the season-opening race (18:24.23), finishing close to a minute faster than what she clocked in Memphis (19:27.19).
Rounding out the morning for MSU were sophomores Gracie Gibson (19:07.05) and Grace Ritchie (20:05.98) who also saw improved results from their previous race.
The Dawgs will take a week off before returning to action for the 21st Annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic.
