
Broughton, Poe Win Heptathlon Silver, Bronze on Day Two of SECs

OXFORD – Despite over a five-hour weather delay prior to Friday's first event, the Mississippi State track and field program still managed to get multiple Dawgs to secure points for the overall team race.

Shayla Broughton and Asia Poe won silver and bronze, respectively, in the women's heptathlon, while Cameron Crump secured a fourth-place finish in the men's long jump.

Rosealee Cooper's efforts in the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims helped propel her into Saturday's final, which is set for a 5:45 p.m. CT start.

After two days, State's women sit in 11th place with 14 team points, while the men sit in sixth place with 18 team points.

MSU will have a total of 16 scoring chances on the final day of the meet.

Jhordyn Stallworth (12:30 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's discus.
Poe (2:30 p.m. CT) will compete in the women's triple jump.
Cade Finley, Daniel Pepper and Jeremiah Pierce (2:45 p.m. CT) will all compete in the men's discus.
Emma Hunt, Maddy Kish and Peyton Mickelson (5 p.m. CT) will all compete in the women's pole vault.
At 5:05 p.m. CT, the women's 4x100m relay will begin, followed by the men's 4x100m relay 10 minutes later (5:15 p.m. CT).
Keshun Byrd (5:45 p.m. CT) will compete in the men's triple jump. At the same time but on the track, Cooper will compete in the final of the women's 100m hurdles.
Sydney Steely (6:45 p.m. CT) and Navasky Anderson (6:55 p.m. CT) will both race in the final of the women's and men's 800m, respectively.
The meet will conclude with the 4x400m relay (women's – 8:30 p.m. CT; men's – 8:40 p.m. CT).
