Rougetet Named SEC Co-Field Athlete Of The Week

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State thrower Marie Rougetet was named the SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week, announced this afternoon.
"This is a great way to start the season," said head coach Chris Woods. "We are looking for Marie to continue to do great things throughout the season!"
Rougetet opened her season in a big way, launching a 67.29m throw in the hammer. Her mark was the winning throw at the Alumni Bulldog Relays.
She now leads the conference in the hammer by nearly three meters and sits third on the NCAA rankings in the event. She has the highest mark by any sophomore in the nation. Rougetet currently ranks 41st in the world.
Her performance last weekend was her best season opener to date, improving on last year's opener by nearly three meters. Rougetet looks to continue her momentum this weekend, competing in the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge.
