
19 PRs Fall in the Bayou, MSU wins Seven Events

BATON ROUGE, La. – The momentum found in last week's home meet traveled with the Mississippi State track and field program to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as 18 different Bulldogs set a new personal best, with Shayla Felder setting two in both the women's 200m and 400m.
MSU will continue its four-meet road trip next week, heading to Oxford (Sat., April 8-9) for the Joe Walker Invite – hosted by Ole Miss. All remaining road meets coming up for the Bulldogs will be hosted by an SEC school (Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama).

- Cade Finley extended his mark in the men's discus
- Zoe Brito, Ashley Melcherts, Navasky Anderson and Daniel Joyce all shrunk their time in the women's and men's 1500m, respectively
- Shayla Felder set a new personal record in the women's 400m, while teammates Leon Clarke, Dalton Dempsey and Lee Eppie ran new PRs on the men's side
- Jhordyn Stallworth extended her personal best in the women's shot put
- Teammates Rosealee Cooper and Felder both shortened their women's 200m time
- Both Daniel Pepper and Francesca Chambers extended their mark in the men's and women's hammer throw, respectively
- Keldrick Edwards shortened his run in the men's 200m
- Jenna Oetting, Caroline Standley and Trent Zelden all set new personal bests in the women's and men's javelin, respectively
- Shayla Broughton extended her women's long jump mark
