March 13, 2022 | Men's Golf
LAFAYETTE, La. – Mississippi State's men's golf program is set to compete in the 37th annual Louisiana Classics tournament for the eighth time in program history. This will be the first time the Bulldogs have competed at the event since 2015.
The Bulldogs are set for a fierce competition on the Oakbourne Country Club par-72, 6,866-yard course with a 16-team field that includes host Louisiana, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 21 Texas A&M and No. 25 LSU along with others from across the nation.
"We are excited for our next step this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "We had a great week of reflection and preparation. We need to continue to embrace the opportunities that are in front of us. It's important that we play within ourselves and the system we have in place in order to be successful. We need to embrace playing for each other and everything else will take care of itself."
Mississippi State is coming off a quick turnaround from the Desert Mountain Classic in Phoenix, Arizona, last weekend where the Bulldogs finished in fourth place.
