STARKVILLE – The start of a new era in Mississippi State women's basketball comes to fruition Wednesday night inside Humphrey Coliseum when head coach Sam Purcell and his Bulldog squad hits the hardwood for the first time to tipoff the 2022-23 season.

The Sam Purcell Era Is Officially Underway
• Hired on March 12, 2022, as the ninth head coach in MSU Women's Basketball history, Purcell will be making his head coaching debut on Wednesday.
• Purcell, after helping Louisville reach a Final Four, hit the ground running hiring his staff and signing six players to round out his first roster.

• This will be the 21st meeting in the series with Mississippi State owning an 18-2 advantage all-time
