Bulldogs Host Magnolia State Rivalry

STARKVILLE – Another page in the Mississippi State-Ole Miss rivalry will be written on Wednesday as the Bulldogs hosts the Rebels at the Newell-Grissom Building.
First serve is set for 8 p.m. CT and the match will be nationally televised on ESPNU. Live stats will be available through StatBroadcast. Â
Mississippi State has won the last three matchups in the Magnolia State rivalry. During the last matchup, the Bulldogs earned a 3-2 reverse sweep over the Rebels in Oxford on Oct. 17, 2021.
"The rivalry is always a big deal, and we are excited to play at home on Wednesday," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "We need our fans to come out and support us as we try and play our best volleyball possible, so we can be successful. Hail State!"
Lilly Gunter looks to add more digs to her portfolio after earning her 1,000th career dig in last week's match against South Carolina (10/19). The junior libero has sprawled out 10-plus digs in 16 of her 19 starts while wearing the libero jersey. Her 3.82 digs per set ranks seventh among SEC liberos and first on the MSU squad.
Gabby Coulter has distributed 9.35 assists per set on the season, which ranks ninth among SEC setters. She has cranked out a team-leading eleven double-doubles this year, with her latest coming at South Carolina on Oct. 19 with 28 assists and 13 digs.
Gabby Waden has belted a team-leading 3.54 kills per set on a .301 hitting percentage. She has totaled 10-plus kills during 17 of her last 19 outings. Waden has produced two double-doubles on the season, recording 12 kills and 14 digs against Milwaukee (08/26) and 12 kills and 12 digs against South Alabama (09/10).
Lauren Myrick has powered home 2.83 kills per set to go along with 2.18 digs and 0.25 aces per set. Myrick has collected five double-doubles on the season. Her latest double-double came against Texas A&M with 10 kills and 12 digs on Oct. 7.
Shania Cromartie registered 2.78 kills and 2.16 digs per set. Her 2.87 kills are ranked third on the squad behind Waden and Myrick. Cromartie has issued six double-doubles on the season, with her latest coming against Texas A&M with 12 kills and 12 digs on Oct. 7 and 12 kills and 13 digs on Oct. 8.
Sania Petties has chipped in 1.54 kills and 0.64 blocks per set, while compiling a .302 attacking percentage. Deja Robinson has tucked away 0.94 blocks per set, while recording 1.58 kills per set. Robinson has also registered a .338 hitting percentage, which ranks eighth in the SEC.
