Forbes Named To Midseason All-America Teams

Emmanuel Forbes was recognized by The Associated Press, CBS Sports and The Athletic.
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes has been named to a trio of midseason All-America teams following his performance for the Bulldogs over the first half of his junior season. Forbes was recognized by The Associated Press, CBS Sports and The Athletic.

Forbes now has five interceptions through seven games this season, which is tied for the second-most in MSU single-season history. He recently tied the SEC record with his fifth career pick-six on a 59-yard return at Kentucky.

The junior now has 13 career interceptions, which leads the nation since 2020 and is the most among active SEC players. Forbes' 13 picks currently rank third nationally among active players, while he is ranked fourth in MSU history in that category.

On Oct. 4, Forbes was named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after recording two interceptions, including one he took 33 yards for a touchdown, to seal Mississippi State's 42-24 win over No. 17 Texas A&M. That same week, Forbes earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against the Aggies.

Forbes and the No. 24-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs travel to take on No. 6 Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
