STARKVILLE – The Cowboys, Chiefs and Packers have already clinched playoff berths and several other teams featuring former Mississippi State players are looking to punch their tickets as well.
Week 17 will have 10 games today involving Bulldog alums, including two head-to-head matchups.
Philadelphia's defensive tandem of Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay will start the day when they face Montez Sweat in Washington at noon. Sunday's slate closes with Preston Smith and the Packers playing host to the Vikings' Cameron Dantzler at 7:20 p.m.
Washington and Minnesota are both trying to keep their playoff hopes alive as is Baltimore, Las Vegas and New Orleans.
Pernell McPhee will suit up for the Ravens for the first time since Nov. 11 due to a knee injury but will be in action today against the Rams. J.T. Gray is also back after missing last week's game on the COVID-19 list as the Saints host Carolina at 3:20 p.m.
Denico Autry will try to extend his sack streak to four games as he and Tennessee teammate Jeffery Simmons take on the Dolphins. Willie Gay Jr., Chris Jones and the Chiefs travel to Cincinnati while Benardrick McKinney and the Giants visit Chicago today at noon.
Dak Prescott and Dallas will host the Cardinals while Gabe Jackson and the Seahawks welcome Detroit to town at 3:25 p.m.
Tyre Phillips (Baltimore) and Logan Cooke (Jacksonville) were both placed on injured reserve this week, ending their seasons.
Braxton Hoyett was also released by the Saints on Tuesday after making his 2021 season debut on Monday. Hoyett had four tackles and one tackle for loss in that contest.
