Four Bulldogs Earn ITA Preseason Rankings

STARKVILLE – The International Tennis Association (ITA) recognized three Mississippi State players in its Women's Preseason Rankings released on Tuesday.

Junior Emma Antonaki earned a No. 22 singles ranking as well as a No. 41 doubles ranking alongside junior Tamara Racine. The doubles tandem of senior Magda Adaloglou and sophomore Chloé Cirotte were not far behind, coming in at No. 43.

Antonaki has compiled a 48-28 career singles record during her three seasons in Starkville. The 5-foot-7 native of Athens, Greece went 14-8 last spring and earned a career-best No. 19 ranking in late March. She was also a first team All-SEC selection.

Antonaki and Racine are new doubles partners this year. Antonaki is a career 48-28 doubles competitor including a 14-8 record in 2021. Racine has a 35-39 career record in doubles and went 9-12 in the spring.

Adaloglou and Cirotte teamed together twice in the spring but only completed one of those matches. Adaloglou and Cirotte defeated the Southeastern Louisiana tandem of Putri Insani and Ximena Yanez, 6-1, at home on Jan. 31.

Adaloglou has a 58-45 doubles record over her career and went 13-8 in 2021. Cirotte had a 6-12 record in doubles play last spring. Adaloglou was named All-SEC second team last season while Cirotte garnered ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year.

The Bulldogs could play in up to seven events this fall starting at the Furman Fall Classic in Greenville, South Carolina starting on Sept. 17.
