Tennis Programs Capture ITA Academic Awards

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State tennis programs collected team and individual academic accolades for the 2020-21 season, announced Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Both programs captured ITA All-Academic Team honors by eclipsing the required 3.2 cumulative GPA, while 12 Bulldogs surpassed the 3.5 individual GPA requirement to be named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The men's program, led by Matt Roberts, garnered a 3.58 team GPA. It marked the 13th straight season and the 20th overall ITA All-Academic Team honor in program history.
The women's team, headed by Daryl Greenan, came away with a 3.43 team GPA to claim its 12th consecutive award and the program's 22nd overall ITA All-Academic Team selection.
Individually, each program had six players tuck away ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
Emma Antonaki (Management), Chloé Cirotte (Undecided), Marta Falceto (Mathematics), Valeria Nikolaev (Kinesiology), Lilian Poling (Workforce Education Leadership – Masters) and Tamara Racine (Fashion Design and Merchandising) represented the women's team.
Antonaki is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, whereas Cirotte, Falceto and Poling hold 4.0 GPAs for their careers.
Florian Broska (Management), Alberto Colas (Marketing), Giovanni Oradini (Kinesiology – Sport Administration), Gregor Ramskogler (Kinesiology – Sport Administration), Seth Richey (Mathematics) and Davide Tortora (Kinesiology – Sport Administration) represented the men's program.
Broska is a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, while Richey has earned a 4.0 GPA for his career.
