- Mississippi State has reached the Championship Series at the College World Series for the second time in program history. The 2013 squad faced UCLA in the best-of-three series, which started in 2003.
- Five of Mississippi State's eight wins in the NCAA postseason have come in one-run games, including the NCAA Regional-clinching win over Campbell in extra innings and the CWS bracket winner over Texas in walk-off fashion.
- While many of them came against non-conference opponents, Mississippi State is 15-1 this season and 34-3 under Chris Lemonis in games played on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
- The Mississippi State pitching staff has been a part of four College World Series records in 2021. Along with the most strikeouts in a game (21) and most combined strikeouts in a game (33), MSU also used a record-tying eight pitchers in a win over Virginia and finished the latest game in TD Ameritrade Park's tenure hosting the CWS.
- The walk-off win over Texas was the fifth of the season for Mississippi State, with someone named Tanner involved in four of them. Tanner Allen has two, while Logan Tanner and Tanner Leggett each have one. Luke Hancock has the other for MSU in 2021.
- Landon Sims has factored into six of Mississippi State's eight decisions this postseason. He has four saves and two wins over his six appearances and has struck out 22 batters to just one walk in 16 innings pitched.
- Sims is closing in on joining Will Bednar (135) and Christian MacLeod (113) in the 100K club in 2021. It would mark just the fourth trio in SEC history to reach the 100-stikeout mark in the same season.
- Tanner Allen and Rowdey Jordan and moving their names to the top of the Mississippi State College World Series record books in a bevy of categories. The duo are tops in games played and hits, and trail only Will Clark in the total bases category entering the championship series.
MORE ON PAGE 5 - Kamren James enters the championship series with an 11-game reached base streak - the longest of his career. He is the only Diamond Dawg to have reached base in every postseason game this season.
- Tanner Allen is averaging 1.4 hits, 1.2 RBIs and 1.1 runs scored in 10 NCAA postseason starts in 2021. Of his 14 hits, six have gone for extra bases and he has five walks, one hit-by-pitch and just five strikeouts in 46 plate appearances.
