Q: What's the one thing you miss the most from home?
WB: Definitely my dog, Moose. It was his first birthday this past Monday, and I miss him. He's a big goofball. He's a quarantine puppy. He's a Great Pyrenees, and he's huge. He's already 100 pounds.
Q: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
WB: I loved Hines Ward when I was younger. Hines Ward was a big one, especially when they were tearing it up in the early 2000's.
Q: Has your brother, (Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher) David Bednar, given you any advice on how to approach playing college baseball?
WB: His biggest advice to me overall was never get too high on the highs, or too lows with the lows. He did a really good job of that in pro ball. He really struggled his third or fourth year when he was in high-A ball in California, but he kind of figured it out, and in the second half of the year he tore it up. He does a really good job of keeping a steady head, and I'm trying to do the same thing.
Q: What's your favorite ballpark snack?
WB: It depends on the stadium. I have been to a bunch of different places with a bunch of different stuff. One of my favorites was in Fort Wayne when David was with the Tin Caps, they had apple crisps with ice cream, and that was probably one of the best ballpark snacks I've ever had. Nachos are always a big one at Pirate games, they're always a go-to.
Q: What made Mississippi State the place the place for you to come to school?
WB: Pretty much everything about it. Obviously Dudy Noble is better than anywhere else, and I really like campus and everything State has to offer.
Q: Describe what it's like to play at Dudy Noble Field.
WB: Really the word that comes to mind is electric. The atmosphere is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. It's incredible to have everyone going crazy [as I] settle in, it's a really good feeling.
Q: Who is the best dancer on the pitching staff?
WB: Spencer Price without a doubt.
