Bulldogs Grab Five Wins on Day Two of War Eagle Invite

AUBURN, Ala. – Mississippi State track and field finished the second day of the War Eagle Invitational and Virginia Challenge with a combined five wins and several personal bests.

The men's 4x100m relay squad of Jesse Henderson, Keldrick Edwards, Okheme Moore and Cameron Crump came in first with a season-best record of 39.98. The 4x400m relay team also updated their season-best to 3:09.91 with the lineup of Edwards, Sema'J Daniels, Montel Hood and Moore.

In the 100m hurdles, Rosealee Cooper won the event in 13.12. In the 110m hurdles, Jesse Henderson won in 14.06.

Keshun Byrd won the men's triple jump at 15.36mw.

The women's 4x400m relay of Katie Martin, Jada McDougle, Rosealee Cooper and Nykah Smith won in 3:39.47, a season-best. The 4x100m relay of McDougle, Smith, Cooper and Faith Gilbert also updated its season best to 45.06, finishing in second place, and moved into the No. 4 all-time spot for MSU in the record books.

Jhordyn Stallworth broke the freshman record in the women's discus with a personal-best of 48.09m. The previous record of 46.17 from Crystal Averitt had stood since 2002. Not only did she break the freshman record, but she broke into the top-5 all-time at State, coming in at No. 3 overall.
Asia Poe's second-place finish with a height of 1.79m moves her from being No. 5 all-time to being tied for third in the record books with Jessica Merriweather and Jasmine Walls.

Jhordyn Stallworth broke the freshman record in the women's discus with a personal-best of 48.09m. The previous record of 46.17 from Crystal Averitt had stood since 2002. Not only did she break the freshman record, but she broke into the top-5 all-time at State, coming in at No. 3 overall.
Asia Poe's second-place finish with a height of 1.79m moves her from being No. 5 all-time to being tied for third in the record books with Jessica Merriweather and Jasmine Walls.
