Bulldogs Move Up To Eighth Place After Second Round in Athens

ATHENS, Ga. – Mississippi State women's golf jumped up three spots on the leaderboard to finish in eighth place at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Saturday. The Bulldogs shot a second-round team score of 302 to lead four ranked teams.
Ashley Gilliam continued to lead the Dawgs, tying for 11th after shooting 3-over par 75. Sophomore Abbey Daniel posted the squad's best round for the day, shooting even par to move into a tie for 18th place. She boasts a team-best six rounds of par or better this spring.
Tied for 43rd, redshirt junior Hannah Levi shot a 75 for the day to be 9-over for the event, while senior Blair Stockett is tied for 57th after shooting 8-over par in the second round. Graduate Clara Moyano is currently tied for 63rd.
The Bulldogs will compete in the final round of event Sunday. State will tee off at 7:35 a.m. Fans can follow along with the live scoring at GolfStat.com.
