
Whateley Named To SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State women's golfer Samantha Whateley was named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team on Wednesday.

Whateley, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, wrapped up her third year with the Bulldogs in May. She appeared in all 11 events and concluded the season with a 72.73 average.

Whateley earned her first individual victory in the fall at the Mason Rudolph Championship, earning SEC Golfer of the Week honors. This win marked the second Bulldog to win the event. She shot in the 60s in all three rounds, the first time in her career she had done such.Â

She also recorded single-season bests of 13 par or better rounds and six rounds in the 60s, which ranks eighth of most in a single season in program history.

Whateley will begin her senior season with the Bulldogs in the fall.
