Three Bulldogs Earn New ITA Rankings

STARKVILLE – Three members of Mississippi State's women's tennis team received rankings recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.

The doubles team of Magda Adaloglou and Chloé Cirotte climbed 15 spots over the course of the fall season and enter the spring at No. 28. The Bulldogs also had a pair of seniors from Greece ranked on the singles side as well with Emmanouela Antonaki coming in at No. 50 and Adaloglou at No. 67.

Adaloglou and Cirotte started the fall with a bang by upsetting the then eighth-ranked Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth of Wake Forest at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic in Greenville, S.C. on Sept. 17. The duo went on to post a win at the ITA Southern Regional Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and also the John Cade Invitational on their home court.

Adaloglou and Cirotte finished the fall with a 3-3 record in ITA sanctioned events.

Antonaki went 7-6 during the fall season with ranked victories over then No. 28 Chloe Beck of Duke at the ITA All-American Championships in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Oct. 6 and No. 50 Megan Davies of South Carolina at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic on Sept. 18.

Adaloglou ended the fall on a three-match winning streak, including a pair of ranked wins on back-to-back days over then No. 100 Ahmeir Kyle of Xavier and No. 27 Sabina Machalova of Ole Miss at the John Cade Invitational. She finished the fall with a 4-3 singles record.
