No. 27 Broska Moving On At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla., - No. 27 Florian Broska began the ITA All-American with a win on Wednesday morning.
Broska beat Central Florida's Trey Hilderbrand in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the main draw.
"Flo started the day off on a very high note against a very tough opponent to play that serves and volleys, has great hands and a big serve to give Flo no rhythm," said MSU assistant coach Jake Jacoby. "He did a great job weathering the storm and executed at a high level this morning."
Broska had some experience against Hilderbrand coming in, having played against him in doubles in the second round of the NCAA Championships last May. Broska and his partner Gregor Ramskogler defeated Hilderbrand and his UCF teammate Bogdan Pavel 7-6(3).
Broska takes on sixth-ranked Johannus Monday of Tennessee on Thursday at 1p.m.
The Bulldogs' other representative at the ITA All-American – Nemanja Malesevic - did not fare quite as well. Malesevic – ranked 36th overall – lost to No. 13 Gabriel Diallo of Kentucky on Wednesday 7-6(2), 6-4.
"Memo competed at a high level while maybe not having his best stuff today," Jacoby said. "Credit to his opponent, who has a very big game, and held serve at a good level today. This match came down to a few big points in both sets and Diallo was about to have those go his way.
"Both Flo and Memo learned today and got better. I can't wait for more matches here in Tulsa over the coming days."
Malesevic meets No. 39 Raphael Lambling of South Carolina in the consolation bracket on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Malesevic defeated Lambling 1-6, 6-0, 6-1 head-to-head in Starkville back on March 12.
