Two Bulldogs Ranked in ITA Preseason Rankings

STARKVILLE – ITA announced its preseason rankings entering the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, August 25th.
The Bulldogs saw two players ranked inside the top 100, with Bryan Hernandez Cortes ranked No. 61 and Raphael Vaksmann ranked No. 95. This marks the fourth consecutive season Mississippi State has seen multiple players ranked inside the ITA Preseason top 100.
Hernandez Cortes enters the season ranked 61st in the nation. The junior is ranked in the ITA preseason rankings for the first time in his career. The 2025-26 season was a breakout season for Hernandez Cortes, finding himself ranked as high as 34th in the country, being ranked for 10 weeks.
Vaksmann opens the season ranked 95th in the country. This marks the sophomore's first time ranked inside the top 100 after reaching a career-high ranking of 123rd in his freshman campaign.
Hernandez Cortes and Vaksmann represent key returners for the Bulldog's 2026-27 team led by Head Coach Matt Roberts. Mississippi State continues to compete as one of the nation's elite college tennis programs. Under Coach Roberts, the Bulldogs have reached consecutive NCAA Quarterfinals and continue to experience success in the SEC and on the national stage.
