Women’s Golf Back in Action at Windy City Collegiate Classic

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State women's golf team returns to the course to tee it up at the Windy City Collegiate Classic. The tournament will feature 15 teams and will be played Monday, October 4th and Tuesday, October 5th at the Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Illinois.
The field of 15 is comprised of eight top-25 teams in the Golfweek rankings. Mississippi State will compete against No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 South Carolina, No. 4 Michigan, No. 6 Duke, No.10 Virginia, No. 12 Florida, No. 13 Texas, No. 14 Stanford. The rest of the field is made up of Augusta, Iowa State, Purdue, Southern California, Michigan State, and host school Northwestern.
Last time out, the Bulldogs used a record third round of 13-under par, tied for the lowest third-round score in history, to finish tied for 11th in the Mason Rudolph Championship carding 8-over (872) for the event. MSU was led by Hannah Levi throughout the Mason Rudolph Championship. She finished the tournament tied for 19th and carded 1-under in the event; she will shoot first this week.
Abbey Daniel will make her season debut shooting second with freshman Julia Lopez Ramirez shooting third. Valeria Mendizabal and Blair Stockett round out the starting 5.
State will tee off between 8:51-9:27 a.m. on Monday. The No. 39 Bulldogs will begin play accompanied by No. 12 Florida and Michigan State.
