Falceto, Mikhailuk Travel To Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., - Mississippi State's women's tennis program will be represented by Marta Falceto and Alexandra Mikhailuk at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic that will take place at the University of Alabama Tennis Center on Friday and Saturday.

They will each compete in singles play and link up to participate in doubles play as well.

Doubles play is set to start at 9 a.m. on Friday with Falceto and Mikhailuk meeting Ariel Johnson and Ava Markham of Wisconsin. Johnson is a freshman while Markham is a senior.

In singles play, Mikhailuk matches up against another Badger in freshman Taylor Cataldi while Falceto takes on freshman Brooke Theis of Tulane.

"The spotlight will be on Alex and Marta this weekend," said head coach Daryl Greenan. "They have both been working hard in practice and I think they are excited to play some tournament matches. We always enjoy playing the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in Tuscaloosa. It is an easy trip and the level is always strong."

Falceto and Mikhailuk had their last action on the courts occur at the ITA Southern Regional Championships from Oct. 14-19 that were also held at the University of Alabama Tennis Center.

In singles play at the event, both Falceto and Mikhailuk each secured a victory in their respective first round matches before dropping their second round matchups.

Meanwhile as a doubles duo, Falceto and Mikhailuk fell in their first round match to South Alabama's Nikola Kohoutova and Luminita Tutunaru, 8-4.
