Bulldogs Post Strong Second Day; Look Ahead to Final Round

Chapel Hill, N.C.– The Mississippi State women's golf team used a strong second round to move up the leaderboard on Saturday. The Bulldogs are now tied for ninth with host North Carolina shooting 1-over (577) after 36 holes.
To lead Mississippi State, Julia Lopez Ramirez used a second-round score of 2-under (70) to propel herself into a six-way tie for 10th place with a score of 3-under through 36 holes. Hannah Levi used a blazing stretch of four straight birdies on holes 10-13 to shoot 4-under (68) on the day and is now tied for 15th. The duo of Levi and Lopez Ramirez have combined for 17 birdies through the first two rounds.
"Going into the final round, I want to see a team that is really opportunistic and really energetic," head coach Charlie Ewing said. "We look forward to the opportunity that we have in front of us. We love each other as a team and when we come out with a lot of energy, we position ourselves to have a good day. We are looking forward to a really good finish to this golf tournament."
In a seven-way tie for 47th, Blair Stockett carded a score of 74 (+2) in the second round. Abbey Daniel finished the second round with an even par score of 72 to stay at 5-over through the first two rounds and is tied for 66th. Lauren Miller rounds out the scoring for the Bulldogs carding a 9-over and is tied for 81st.
State will wrap up the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invite on Sunday for a shotgun start.
