
Women’s Golf Travels to North Carolina to Compete in Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational

STARKVILLE – Five Bulldogs are North Carolina bound this weekend as State competes in its fourth event of the fall season. The team will venture to Chapel Hill for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational beginning Friday.
The three-day, 54-hole event will take place from October 15-17 and will be played on the par-72, 6,393-yard UNC Finley Golf Course. The 19 teams will play 18 holes each day.
The field is comprised of six ACC teams, four SEC teams and four Big Ten squads. The 42nd ranked Bulldogs will compete with four top 15 teams that include No. 6 Michigan, No. 11 Alabama, No. 12 Duke and No. 13 Wake Forest. Other ranked teams competing this weekend include host No. 47 North Carolina A and B teams, No. 24 Virginia Tech, No. 30 Kentucky, No. 31 Furman, No. 32 Vanderbilt, No. 37 Ohio State and No. 43 Clemson. Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Rollins College, UNCW and SMU round out the field.
Leading the Bulldogs is Abbey Daniel who will compete in her second event of the season and first with the team after competing individually in the Windy City Collegiate Classic. Hannah Levi, Julia Lopez Ramirez and Blair Stockett will compete in their fourth straight event with Lauren Miller competing in her third.
State will tee off between 8:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be paired with Kentucky and Ohio State for the first round of the tournament.
