Lizariturry Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State women's tennis' Sara Lizariturry has earned a spot on the 2020 SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
"I am thankful for everything this university and the people here have done for me," Lizariturry said. "My biggest passion is helping people, and I do everything in my power to always reach that goal. I really care about people and always want to give as much as I can."
Lizariturry, the lone senior on State's 2020 roster, was one of 14 members named to the SEC Community Service Team for women's tennis, with all teams submitting members for the 2020 season.
The Barcelona, Spain, native has been an active member in the Starkville community throughout her four-year career at Mississippi State. Most notably, Lizariturry served as the president of Bulldogs Care, a club made up of student-athletes dedicated to planning and executing events to serve the community.
Lizariturry also spent time as a mentor at the Starkville Boys and Girls Club and has read to children at the library in downtown Starkville. She has also participated in the Pink Dawg Walk for breast cancer awareness, MLK Day of Service and Dawg Pack Day, where she helped pack gifts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
