No. 20 MSU Returns Home To Host Tulane & Texas Tech This Weekend

STARKVILLE – After a valiant effort by the Bulldogs to defeat Miami on the road this past Sunday, the Mississippi State men's tennis climbed the ITA national rankings to the No. 20 spot this week as MSU returns home to host Tulane and Texas Tech this weekend.
The Bulldogs (6-2) will face the Green Wave (3-3) at 3:00 p.m. CT Friday afternoon at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. The Bulldogs will take on the Red Raiders (3-3) at 12:00 p.m. CT Sunday.

MSU In The Oracle ITA National Rankings…
The Bulldogs are currently ranked 20th nationally as a team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in this week's latest poll. In the ITA national singles rankings, two-time All-American senior Giovanni Oradini leads the Bulldogs at No. 27 in the country. Junior Florian Broska earned the highest ranking of his career in this week's poll, coming in at No. 61 in the country. After defeating the nation's No. 9 tandem on Sunday, State's top pair of Broska and Nicolas Ocana earned the country's No. 27 ranking in doubles this week as well.
Know The Foe: Tulane/Texas Tech
Tulane enters Friday's match with a 3-3 record after dropping a tough 4-3 decision to Virginia Tech this past Sunday. That loss came after a 4-3 Green Wave win over LSU in Baton Rouge. Senior Ewan Moore leads TU, ranked No. 49 nationally in singles. Junior Hamish Stewart follows right behind at No. 64.
Texas Tech will also enter the weekend with a 3-3 record, coming off of a 6-1 setback to No. 9 Texas A&M in Dallas on Sunday. Two of the Red Raiders' three losses this season have come to current Top 13 teams. Junior Ligiz Valiev leads the team, ranked No. 62 in the country. TTU's top doubles duo of Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn are ranked 60th.
MSU downed Texas Tech (4-2) and Tulane (4-1) in consecutive matches in Lubbock, Texas, last February.
