Seven Bulldogs Ready For NFL Combine

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Mississippi State football standouts safety Brian Cole II, cornerback Cameron Dantzler, linebacker Willie Gay Jr., wide receiver Stephen Guidry, offensive lineman Tyre Phillips, defensive end Chauncey Rivers and offensive lineman Darryl Williams are in Indianapolis this week for the biggest job interview of their lives with hundreds of NFL scouts, executives and coaches at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.
Players began arriving Tuesday, and the event will run through March 1. On-field workouts will begin Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The week-long event features the best college prospects from across the country and has four components – an on-field workout, medical testing, player interviews and psychological testing.
Guidry, Phillips and Williams met with the media over the last two days, and Guidry is set to work out on the field Thursday.
With MSU's seven selections this year, the Bulldogs have sent 15 players to Indianapolis over the past two NFL Combines including a school-record eight invitees last year. State's 15 selections over the last two Combines ties with Auburn for the fifth most in the SEC during that span.
MSU joins LSU, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Arkansas as the seven SEC schools to send multiple players to the NFL Combine each year since 2014. State is one of 16 FBS programs with at least seven invitees in 2020. The SEC leads the nation with 93 invitees, 36 more than the next best conference.
How To Watch
For the first time ever, NFL Network's coverage of the Combine will extend into primetime, beginning Thursday, with seven hours of live coverage of the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends starting at 3 p.m. CT and continuing until 10 p.m. CT.
Combine coverage continues with seven hours of live coverage of the running backs, offensive linemen and special teams on Friday at 3 p.m. CT, and seven hours of live coverage of the defensive linemen and linebackers on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.
NFL Network's Combine coverage concludes with five hours of live coverage of the defensive backs on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. CT.
