Diamond Dawgs enter the weekend tied for No. 2 in the SEC West Division

STARKVILLE – The No. 6 Mississippi State baseball program continues a stretch of games against ranked opponents with a trip to No. 15 Texas A&M. The Diamond Dawgs and Aggies will begin a three-game series on Thursday, May 2 at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

The series opener will go off at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network, before the Friday, May 3 contest will be available online. The finale on Saturday, May 4 will again air on the SEC Network, with All three games available via the Mississippi State Radio Network.

Mississippi State (36-9, 13-8 SEC) is coming off of a three-game sweep of then-No. 3 Georgia last weekend, while Texas A&M (31-15-1, 11-9-1 SEC) was swept last weekend at Ole Miss. The Bulldogs didn't have a midweek contest due to finals. The Aggies got back in the win column with a 15-5 victory over Sam Houston State on Tuesday.

Senior Jake Mangum earned his first-career SEC Player of the Week honor after breaking the SEC career hits record with his 353rd hit in the middle game of the series with Georgia. He finished the weekend ranked tied for No. 12 in NCAA history with 355 career hits.
