State’s Rentouli Named To SEC Community Service Team For Third Time

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Representing the Maroon & White on and off the courts, MSU women's tennis senior standout Anastasia Rentouli has been named to the SEC Community Service Team for the third straight year, the conference office announced on Thursday.
All SEC-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003.
"I am very grateful and humbled to have had multiple opportunities to give back to a community that has given so much to me, my team and Mississippi State University," said Rentouli. "Being able to represent MSU in a first-class manner has been a very rewarding experience."
Rentouli was one of 14 members on the SEC Community Service Team for women's tennis, with all teams submitting members for the 2019 season.
A native of Athens, Greece, Rentouli has made a lasting impact on MSU and the Starkville community. She joined the Bulldogs in the fall of 2015, leaving her servant's mark in the years since. Rentouli has been a member of the MSU Student M-Club, serving as president as a senior in 2018-19, while serving as a liaison from her team to athletic administration with SAAC. Rentouli serves as the campus involvement chair for SAAC.
Along with other MSU student-athletes, Rentouli volunteered with the 2018 "Serving Those Who Serve Us" event, as well as the "United We Feed" food drive. Over the years, she also gave her time to the Special Olympics, Veterans 5K, Domestic Violence Awareness month, Boys and Girls Club Fall Festival and MLK Day of Service in 2019.
In the Starkville community, Rentouli volunteered her time at local schools for "Read Across America" and "JA of Starkville Reading Railroad". She also volunteered for both "National Girls and Women In Sports Day" activities and gave her time at the Dawg Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness and the TK Martin Fun Run.
