Pichaikool Named to First Spring Haskins Award Watch List

STARKVILLE – Players, coaches and media Monday recognized Mississippi State men's golf junior Peng Pichaikool once again, selecting him to the first Spring Haskins Award Watch List.
The Haskins Award is given annually to the nation's top college golfer.
Pichaikool was named to the award's final fall list in November and is the first Bulldog to be named to a Haskins Award watch list.
This season, Pichaikool has earned top-15 finishes in all five of MSU's events that he has participated in with a 70.00 stroke average. Most recently, he finished tied for eighth to help State win the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate on Sunday.
Currently, the Bangkok, Thailand, native is ranked 24th in the Golfstat.com NCAA player ranking and 64th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
On Wednesday, March 6, Pichaikool earned a bid to the Arnold Palmer Cup as a ranking selection, having been the third-rated player on the Arnold Palmer Cup International Team.
Pichaikool was also listed on the Ben Hogan Award's most recent watch list.
The Haskins Award will release two more watch lists this spring, narrowing down the field to 15 players in April and 10 players in May, following NCAA Regional play.
