MSU Women’s Tennis Continues Fall Slate At Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mississippi State women's tennis will be represented by six Bulldogs in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic beginning Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The tournament, hosted by Alabama, will be held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. In addition to Alabama, 16 teams will join the Bulldogs in action, including Alabama State, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Lewis, Maryland, Memphis, Northwestern, South Alabama, Troy, UAB, UT Martin and Wisconsin, along with in-state rival Ole Miss.
The Bulldogs are set to start play with doubles this weekend at 10 a.m. CT on Friday. Marta Falceto and Sara Lizariturry will pair for MSU in the Leslie Grossman Draw against Indiana's Annabelle Andrinopoulous and Jelly Bozovic. Emma Antonaki and Valeria Nikolaev will compete together for the first time this season, taking on Raquel Amaro and Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga of ETSU in the Hilde Otterman Draw. Tamara Racine and Meredith Roberts will conclude the first round of doubles, battling Amelia Campbell and Daphne Pratt of UT Martin in the Millie Begovic Draw.
State will then wrap up opening day with singles action. Antonaki, ranked 41st in the country, is set to compete in the Nancy Harris Draw against Maryland's Ayana Akli, while Racine takes on Chie Kezuka of Iowa State in the Alexa Guarachi Draw. In the Alice Tunaru Draw, Falceto will take the court opposite Hannah McColgan of Northwestern. Nikolaev faces Alex Staiculescu of Indiana in the Anne Macfarlane Draw, Lizariturry will play KSU's Paola Cortez Varga in the Amy Mascotti Draw, and Roberts will take on Yunuen Elizarraras of ETSU in the Lori Smith Draw.
