For his efforts, Slay was selected as Sunday Night Football's Player of the Game.
Linebackers Preston Smith and Pernell McPhee carried the Washington Redskins to a 31-17 victory against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Smith totaled seven tackles in the victory, including six solo stops.
Fletcher Cox continued his torrid start to the season as a veteran defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles. In a 20-16 win over Indianapolis, Cox grabbed four tackles and a half sack. Cox has recorded three sacks and eight tackles for loss through just the first three games of the season.
Texans rookie Jordan Thomas turned in a strong performance against the New York Giants with his first multi-reception game of his career. Thomas reeled in two passes for a career-high 53 yards. Fellow NFL rookie, Logan Cooke has locked down the starting punter job for the third straight week for Jacksonville. Cooke punted six times and booted a career long of 52 against Tennessee.
