Jackson’s Meredith Roberts Signs With MSU Women’s Tennis

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Adding to the 2018-19 roster, Mississippi State women's tennis head coach Daryl Greenan announced the addition of another highly-regarded player on Wednesday, as Meredith Roberts from Jackson, Miss., is transferring to State from TCU.
Roberts comes to Starkville after completing her true freshman season at TCU where she posted 11-14 singles and 10-12 doubles records. During dual match action, she posted three wins in both singles and doubles.
She was the No. 36 overall recruit in the 2017 class and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Mississippi as a five-star recruit entering college. Also in 2017, she was the Mississippi Tennis Association Player of the Year and earned National High School Tennis All-American honors. Roberts was also named the Clarion Ledger Max Preps Tennis Player of the Year in 2015 and 2017.
During her junior campaign in high school, Roberts won 38 matches, four coming at the 2016 USTA Girls' 18U National Clay Court Championships. She advanced to the consolation semifinals at the 2016 Southern Closed BG18 Championships. Roberts also made an appearance in the quarterfinals of the Southern Winter L1 Championships in Hilton Head, S.C.

Meredith is a hard worker and a fierce competitor. She has a solid year of college tennis under her belt and I believe she will make an immediate impact in our lineup. I am confident she will contribute and enjoy the culture we have here at Mississippi State and within our women's tennis program."
