Women’s Tennis Hosts No. 34 Florida, Alcorn State In Saturday DH

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Closing out the five-match homestand, Mississippi State's women's tennis team (8-3, 0-1 SEC) hosts 34th-ranked Florida (6-4, 1-0 SEC) and Alcorn State (1-7) in a Saturday doubleheader. The matches are slated for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. CT at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. Admission is free to all MSU home matches.
Due to the move-in day at Dudy Noble Field's Left Field Lounge this weekend, fans coming to MSU's home tennis matches are encouraged to access the Pitts Tennis Centre on the north side of Chadwick Lake via George Perry Blvd and Lakeview Drive. See this map for details and parking locations.
Last Time Out for MSU…
In their last outing Friday night, State's comeback rally fell short in a setback to No. 13 South Carolina 4-2. South Carolina picked up the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2.
In singles, Bulldogs Anastasia Rentouli and Sara Lizariturry picked up conference victories against their Gamecock opponents. Rentouli extended her winning streak to five matches with her win on court 4.
About Florida and Alcorn State…
Florida is coming off of a 4-3 upset at No. 7 Ole Miss Friday night to open SEC play. The Gators boast four ranked singles players in No. 9 Anna Danilina, No. 35 Brooke Austin, No. 46 Josie Kuhlman and No. 100 Victoria Emma. In doubles, Danilina and Emma pair together to form the nation's 51st-ranked tandem.
Alcorn State enters the weekend 1-7 after picking up its first dual match victory against Grambling State on Feb. 24 by a 4-1 mark.
