Cross Country Teams Garner USTFCCCA Academic Honors

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Success in the classroom continues for Houston Franks' cross country teams as they have earned USTFCCCA All-Academic status once again.
The men's team finished with a 3.48 GPA, while the women turned in a 3.44 GPA.
Freshman Lisa Oed was selected for individual recognition. To qualify, individuals must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and finish in the Top 25 at regionals or be named an All-American at the national meet.
"I'm so proud," Franks said. "This is a great honor for our teams, and we are especially proud of Lisa for her hard work in the classroom this year."
The Bulldogs' women's cross country team finished fifth in the SEC and 15th in the nation this fall. The 2017 season marked the fourth time in as many years that the Bulldogs earned a Top 5 spot in the conference meet.
Eight members of the women's team were named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll earlier this week.
