Bulldogs Return To Action At Louisiana Classics

LAFAYETTE, La. – With the sixth event of the season, the Mississippi State men's golf team will return to action on Monday at the Louisiana Classics Golf Tournament at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La.
"We are eager to get back on the course and compete this week," MSU head men's golf coach Dusty Smith said. "We need to focus on what we can control and focus on each shot as if it has a life of its own. We need to play our brand of golf and get back our identity."
The two-day tournament will begin Monday with two rounds before concluding Tuesday with a lone final round at the Par 72, 6,866-yard Oakbourne Country Club.
Peng Pichaikool, Taylor Grant and Garrett Johnson return as regulars to Dusty Smith's lineup. Junior Ross Bell and senior Jacob Ross, playing in his first team tournament of the season, fill out the lineup card.
For the first time this season, fans can watch the Bulldogs in action via a livestream provided by the hosts, Louisiana-Lafayette. Live stats can be found via Golfstat.com. Monday's first round will begin with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start.
The 15-team field includes Kent State, McNeese State, ULM, Illinois, Louisville, Missouri-Kansas City, Rice, Texas State, Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, UTSA, Toledo, Southern Miss and the hosts, Louisiana-Lafayette.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back from their 15th place finish at their previous tournament, the SunTrust Gator Invitational.
