MSU Women’s Tennis Hosts Georgia State Sunday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Starting off a five-match homestand, the Mississippi State women's tennis team (6-2) will welcome Georgia State (5-3) Sunday at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre, with the match slated for 12 p.m. CT.
"We are excited to be playing a home match tomorrow," head coach Daryl Greenan said. "The girls have been working hard in practice, but we all look forward to match days and competing."
Last Time Out for MSU…
In their last outing, the Bulldogs blanked both Southeastern Louisiana and Southern University by a 4-0 mark in a doubleheader. State's duo of Madison Harrison and Khrystyna Vozniak along with the pair of Sara Lizariturry and Anastasia Rentouli picked up doubles wins against SLU.
In singles, Magda Adaloglou and Harrison picked up two victories each in the doubleheader. Janina Braun, Rentouli and Vozniak were able to pick up a one singles victory. Vozniak remains undefeated in dual match action at 6-0 this spring.
About Georgia State…
Georgia State enters the weekend 5-3 after defeating both UAB and Samford in a Friday doubleheader. The Panthers knocked off UAB 4-2 before downing the Bulldogs of Birmingham 4-1.
What to Note As MSU Hosts Georgia State
· MSU is 4-0 at home this season
· State holds a 27-match winning streak against non-conference foes at home
· The Bulldogs lead the all-time series against Georgia State 3-1
· In the last meeting, MSU defeated the Panthers, 6-1, in Atlanta during the 2017 season
· This is the first meeting between the teams in Starkville since 2011, when the Panthers defeated the Bulldogs 4-2
