STARKVILLE – Looking to build on a second-place finish at the rain-shortened Magnolia Invitational, the Mississippi State women's golf team returns to action Sunday at the Jim West Challenge in San Marcos, Texas.
Beginning Sunday, the Bulldogs will play 54 holes over two days at the par-72, 6,185-yard Kissing Tree Golf Club against a talented 15-team field that includes No. 21 Florida State and fellow SEC members Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Sunday's opening two rounds start with the Bulldogs, who are playing in the event for the first time since 2015, teeing off No. 11 at 8:30 a.m. CT.
Hannah Levi leads the Bulldog lineup and is looking to build off a Top-5 performance at the Magnolia Invitational. The D'Iberville, Mississippi, native finished in a tie for third at Old Waverly Golf Club with a 3-under 141 over the tournament that was shortened to 36 holes.
Sophomore Blair Stockett, who is ranked among the SEC's top players, also had a stellar showing on the Dawgs' home course, using a second-round 69 to finish tied for sixth with a 2-under 142. The sixth-place finish was her second-straight Top 20 showing as she carded a 19th-place finish just under a month ago at the Schooner Fall Classic.
Freshman Lauren Miller makes her fourth-straight appearance for the Bulldogs in this weekend's lineup. Miller comes off a tie for 10th in her last action, and she has shot par or lower in four of her last five rounds.
Sophomore Aubree Jones has also been playing solid golf for MSU. Jones used a second-round 70 to finish tied for 22nd at Old Waverly after opening the Schooner Fall Classic with rounds of 69 and 70.
Junior Clara Moyano rounds out the lineup after joining her fellow teammates with a Top-25 showing at the Magnolia Invitational.
