
No. 5/3 Bulldogs Take 16-Game Win Streak To LSU Sunday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – After opening the home SEC slate with an impressive 111-69 win against Arkansas on Thursday, the No. 5/3 Mississippi State women's basketball team seeks to continue its perfect start to the season intact as it heads to LSU for a Sunday afternoon contest.

Thursday's win, State's most points ever in an SEC game, improved the Bulldogs to 16-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Through the opening week of league play, State is averaging an impressive 98.5 ppg. Victoria Vivians scored a game-high 29 points at Arkansas. That performance, paired with a 20-point effort at Georgia on New Year's Eve, puts her third in the SEC in league scoring at 24.5 ppg.
The Carthage, Miss., native, is also third in the conference for the year with a 20.4 scoring clip.
Teaira McCowan added 18 points at Arkansas and is adding 22 points and 10.5 rebounds through the opening two SEC contests.
State seeks to win in Baton Rouge for the third time overall and second time in as many opportunities. The Lady Tigers are also 2-0 in SEC play (10-3 overall) after winning at No. 15 Missouri 69-65 on Thursday.
Raigyne Louis and Chloe Jackson pace LSU in scoring this season with 16.3 and 16. 2 ppg, respectively. Jackson is scoring at a 23.5 clip in league contests.
