GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another day, another ranked win for Mississippi State's Giovanni Oradini in the Gator Ranked+1 tournament.

The Bulldog sophomore earned arguably his biggest win of the tournament, and his career, on Saturday, as he downed South Carolina's 28^th-ranked Gabriel Friedrich 7-5, 1-6, 6-1 in a three-set thriller in the Orange draw. His victory sets up a meeting with Duarte Vale of host Florida, who is ranked ninth nationally in the Oracle ITA Freshman-Newcomer Rankings.

"Once again, Giovanni competed so well and came up with a big win," MSU coach Matt Roberts said. "He is establishing himself as one of the best sophomores in the nation and will take a lot of confidence from these two big days."

The title match for Oradini is set to begin at 8 a.m. CT Sunday and the match will be streamed live.

MSU's No. 67 Strahinja Rakic also earned a ranked win against No. 74 Chris Morin-Kougoucheff of Louisville 6-4, 6-3 in Orange draw consolation action. Rakic will retake the court on Sunday at 8 a.m. against Tulane's Tyler Schick in the fifth-place match.

Niclas Braun and Oradini earned a third-place finish in the Blue doubles draw, falling in a tight 8-7 decision to Florida's Alfredo Perez and Duarte Vale before a walkover against Enzo Wallart and Trey Yates of Kentucky in the third place match.

In the consolation semifinals of the Blue singles draw, Braun dropped a tough three-setter to Wake Forest's Bar Botzer. The State junior will face Illinois' 80^th-ranked Aleks Kovacevic on Sunday at 8 a.m. in another consolation contest.

Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – At the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall Championships, Mississippi State's Florian Broska and Trevor Foshey continued their dominance, pairing up to take the doubles crown in the Crimson draw Saturday morning.

The pair began the day with an 8-4 victory against Florida State's twin pair of Terrance Whitehurst and Terrell Whitehurst before facing its toughest test in the bracket finale against Memphis' 41^st-ranked pair of Kai Lemke and Matt Story. Broska and Foshey would not let their opponents' ranking faze them as they claimed an 8-7(4) decision for the crown.

"It was very impressive seeing Florian and Trevor winning the title today against some veteran teams," Roberts said. "Trevor guided and kept Florian calm in all of the big moments, which is what you want to see from an upperclassman."

In singles action, Foshey dropped a tough 6-4, 6-4 decision to Oklahoma's Jake Van Emburgh in the semifinals of the Houndstooth draw. Foshey will wrap up the tournament against Oklahoma's James Davis on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the third-place match of that bracket.

Broska will also retake the court at 9 a.m. Sunday in the third-place match of the Crimson singles draw against Jose Gracia of Florida State after dropping a battle against Oklahoma's Ferran Calvo in the semis Saturday.

Up Next For MSU

After completing play in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa, the Bulldogs will set their sights on the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Second-ranked Nuno Borges and five other Bulldogs will compete in the event, with pre-qualifying play beginning on Sept. 30 and the main draw running from Oct. 5-9.
