We had some of our best crowds ever this weekend, including the eighth-largest, on-campus crowd in college baseball history on Saturday at The Dude, and I want to thank all of you for the support you show MSU. It's because of your dedication that our teams are able to accomplish the great things we have been witnessing all spring, and I look forward to celebrating even more victories and achievements as the year goes on.

Speaking of success, how much fun has it been to watch our baseball team lately? I am so proud of Coach Cannizaro and the job he has done while dealing with so much adversity. Our Bulldogs have won three-straight SEC series, are 11-2 in their last 13 games and have leapt into the rankings as they are tied for first place in the SEC. Similarly, it's hard to say enough about the way Brent Rooker is playing, who is just at another level right now. He's the first back-to-back SEC Player of the Week since 2008, and it's his third time to win the award, and all the while, National Player of the Week awards have been rolling in day-by-day.
Good luck to the team on the road at South Carolina this weekend. We look forward to seeing you back in town against Alabama next weekend.

As the year goes along, our tennis teams keep getting better and better. A huge congratulations goes to Coach Roberts and our men's team for checking in at No. 17 in the country after a big upset of No. 7 Texas A&M on Friday and a decisive victory over LSU on Sunday. All of this as Coach Roberts moved into fifth place for all-time wins in MSU history and Nuno Borges is ranked as the No. 4 singles player in the country (and was named SEC Player of the Week today). Coach Greenan and his ladies came off a tough weekend of SEC play ranked No. 20 in the country, featuring the third-ranked doubles duo in America with Jasmine Lee and Lisa Marie Rioux. Lee, last's week's SEC Player of the Week on the women's side, is 16th nationally in singles as well.
Our men finish off the regular season with top 25 matchups at Florida and South Carolina this weekend, while our women conclude their schedule at rival Ole Miss on Saturday. Good luck to both teams this weekend and we look forward to watching you in the postseason.
