Weather Alters Tiger Invitational As MSU Is Tied for 11th
March 05, 2017 | Men's Golf
OPELIKA, Ala. – For the second-straight tournament, weather wreaked havoc on the Mississippi State men's golf team. As a result, the originally scheduled three-day Tiger Invitational was condensed into a two-day affair with the threat of weather coming on Tuesday.
MSU shot an opening round 291 on Sunday before darkness cut the second round short to tie for 11th. Play will resume at 7:45 a.m. Monday.
The strong play of Peng Pichaikool continued as the freshman fired an opening round 1-under-par-71 to open the second round tied for 19th.
Joining Pichaikool in the Top 25 was Ross Bell, who carded 72 to find himself tied for 25th.
The upperclassman duo of Taylor Grant and Ben Follett-Smith are tied for 46th after shooting identical 74s.
Rounding out the Maroon and White scorecard, senior Jackson Dick opened the Tiger Invitational with a 75 and sits in a tie for 62nd.
Host Auburn holds the team lead after 18 holes, while Kennesaw State's Chris Guglielmo sits atop the individual leaderboard.
