Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach of the Week: Andrew McCall
March 24, 2017 | Baseball
Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to honor pediatric patients and celebrate their inspirational stories. This week, our Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Andrew McCall of Philadelphia.
Life has thrown Andrew some serious curveballs, but he's becoming a pro at knocking them out of the park. Andrew was diagnosed with a high-risk form of acute lymphoblastic leukemia a year ago. Since his diagnosis, he has spent close to 100 days at Batson Children's Hospital. Under the expert care of the Children's Cancer Center staff, Andrew was declared in remission just three months after his diagnosis. He'll continue to receive chemotherapy for a few more years, but that won't distract him from his love of sports, especially baseball. This baseball fanatic can be seen regularly strolling through the hospital halls sporting his favorite Mississippi State baseball jersey.
