June 10, 2026 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – More All-America awards are on their way to Mississippi State.
Tomas Valincius, Ace Reese and Noah Sullivan were each selected as All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) while Valincius and Reese also earned the same honor from Perfect Game on Wednesday.
NCBWA tabbed Valincius to its first team as a starting pitcher, Reese as a second team third baseman and Sullivan as a third team designated hitter. Perfect Game picked Reese to its first team and Valincius as a second teamer.
Reese and Sullivan were both NCBWA first team All-Americans in 2025 with Reese also earning third team All-America honors from Perfect Game last year. With the addition of Valincius on Wednesday and also Jacob Parker earning Freshman All-America honors from NCBWA earlier in the week, the Diamond Dawgs now have 87 All-Americans earning 171 total honors all time.
In 16 starts, Valincius posted an 11-2 record on the mound with a 3.50 earned run average. The sophomore left-hander struck out 134 and only walked 20 across 97 2/3 innings this year. His strikeouts were the eighth-highest in a single season in school history while his win total tied for 10th. Opposing hitters batted just .230 against him and his 86 strikeouts during conference play led the SEC.
Reese became the third player in program history to hit 20-plus home runs in back-to-back seasons, joining Will Clark and Rafael Palmeiro. The junior from Canton, Texas was the only player on the team to start all 62 games this spring batting .336 with 23 doubles, 24 homers and 74 RBIs. He currently leads the Southeastern Conference in doubles with that total also tied for the eighth-most in a single season in MSU history. His home run total in 2026 ranks fourth all-time in the school's annals and his 45 career homers in Maroon and White matches Tommy Raffo (1987-90) for ninth all-time at State.
Sullivan started 54 games as a designated hitter and three more at first base during 2026. The graduate from Orlando, Florida finished second on the team with a .342 batting average to go along with 75 hits, 14 doubles, 13 homers, 46 RBIs and a team-best .451 on-base percentage. He also was second on the team with 10 steals in 12 attempts. His .463 on-base percentage during his two seasons in Starkville ranks third-best in school history among players with 300-plus at bats.
