STARKVILLE, Miss. — Coming off a stellar performance in the UCF Challenge, the Mississippi State women's golf team is set to continue its success in New Orleans at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, beginning Sunday and concluding on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs tied for third place in Orlando to start the spring season with great momentum.
Senior Jessica Peng tabbed her first collegiate tournament victory by shooting an 11-under 205.
Last year at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, Peng placed seventh. She plans to keep the spring momentum strong heading into the weekend.
"I am just going to go through all of my pre-shot checks, and stay confident in my game," Peng said.
The 54-hole tournament begins with the first round on Sunday at 9 a.m. Monday's second round also begins at 9 a.m. with Tuesday's final round set to begin at 8 a.m. This long-standing, three-day event is in its seventh year being hosted by the Tulane Green Wave and held at English Turn. 17 teams will compete in the event, including SEC foes Florida and LSU.
