NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One by one, the records continue to fall in 2017.
In total, MSU's women have shattered six indoor school records this season. The latest be broken came from junior Brianna Smith, who grabbed the weight throw record with a toss of 20.35m in Nashville Friday night. '
Sophomore Shannon Fair also moved her way up the Bulldog record book, securing a third-place spot in the 5000m run with a personal best 16:30.50 mark.
On the men's side, Josh Willingham set a new personal best 20.01 second time in the 200m dash to pick up a top-10 finish.
"I'm really happy for Brianna," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "She has been so close to that record for a while now, and it seems like every week she has been getting better and better. You just sort of had the feeling she would grab it at some point, and she did that today. We are excited for another full day tomorrow, and hopefully we will see some more records fall."
The Bulldogs will be back at it from Nashville tomorrow morning, beginning with the women's 3K at 10 a.m.
