WACO, Texas – With all action at the H-E-B Invitational completed, the Mississippi State women's tennis team went 2-0 in singles on the final day.
State's newcomer Magda Adaloglou made quick work of Houston's Lauren Alter 6-2, 6-0 in the consolation semifinals Sunday. Adaloglou finished the weekend 3-1 in singles for a combined 5-2 record over her short Bulldog career.
MSU sophomore Sara Lizariturry held off Houston's Ana Glumac 7-5, 6-1 in consolation play Sunday. Lizariturry also finished the weekend 3-1 in singles.
Due to travel, the two Bulldogs did not face each other in the championship match of the consolation draw.
"Our girls competed hard and made adjustments as the weekend went on," head coach Daryl Greenan said. "All four of our girls picked up hard-earned singles wins. I like the progress we are making and now we will set our sights on preparations for Regionals in two weeks."
