
Junior Ross Bell will compete in his first tournament of the 2017-18 season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following a third-place finish in their season opener at the Bearcat Invitational, the Mississippi State men's golf team will resume play on Monday at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate at Old Overton Club in Birmingham, Ala.
"We are looking forward to competing this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "We had a good week of preparation and are excited to get back out there.
"This is our next step in our season. It's our job to play our brand of golf and to take ownership of that."
Peng Pichaikool, Taylor Grant, Garrett Johnson and Cameron Clarke return to Smith's lineup, while junior Ross Bell finishes the group and competes in his first tournament of the season.
The Bulldogs tee off the opening two rounds at 8:20 a.m. CT Monday. The tournament closes Tuesday with 18 holes.
MSU will compete against 12 teams including Southeastern Conference opponents Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn. Baylor, BYU, Charlotte, Michigan, Samford, South Alabama, UAB and UNLV make up the rest of the field.
Live scoring is available through Results.GolfStat.com. Old Overton Club plays to a par-70 at 7,204 yards.
