WEST POINT, Miss. – A beautiful three days for the inaugural Magnolia Invitational wrapped Tuesday with Mississippi State junior Katie Holt tying for eighth and leading the Mississippi State women's golf team to a tie for fourth at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.

Holt followed an opening-round 73 with consecutive even-par 72s to finish the event with a 1-over 217. As a team, State carded a 6-over 294 to cap the three days with an 877.

Co-host Ole Miss took medalist honors, shooting 10-under 854 over the three-day event. The contest for the individual crown ended in a playoff after Ole Miss' Julia Johnson and Memphis' Abby Herrmann both shot 7-under 209s for the tournament. Johnson won with a par on the second playoff hole, the challenging No. 18.

Holt posted the best finish of her career behind a solid final round that saw her drain four birdies on a course that was made tougher by gusty winds. The junior, who posted a tournament second-most 38 pars, opened up third-round play by draining a birdie on her first hole, the par-4 sixth. She added three more birdies on Nos. 10, 12 and 15.

"We had so much fun playing at our home course. I can't wait to take this energy to our final event of the fall in a few weeks," Holt said. "We played well this week and a big part of that was just staying patient with ourselves. We know we have put in the work, so when we go out and play we just have to play. We are getting better every day, and I'm excited for the future of this team. Hail State!"

Fellow junior Kendall Wisenbaker also had a career day on the links, finishing tied for 12th. Wisenbaker finished the front nine holes 1-under to end the day with a 1-over 73.

Freshman Aubree Jones fired her third 74 of the event on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 23rd with a 222. Â Jones led the tournament in pars with 47.

Clara Moyano, Monday's leader for the Bulldogs, ended the Magnolia Invite tied for 21st with a 221, while teammate Athena Yang ended the day with a 75 and a 224 over the three days.

Individual Blair Stockett showed signs of a promising career in her collegiate tournament debut after ending the event tied for 25th. The freshman shot a 3-over 75 Tuesday after finishing the front nine holes 1-under. Stockett totaled a 223.

Teri Doss got back four strokes from Monday by notching a 76 in the final round. Doss rallied on the front nine with a 2-under. She collected back-to-back birdies on Nos. 3 and 4 and again on No. 9.

Ela Grimwood also carded a 2-under on the front nine before going on to shoot a 74 on the day. Grimwood ended the tournament with a 229.

Blaise Carabello carded a 233 over the three days.

The Bulldogs' next action comes in Mexico as the Dawgs travel to Cabo San Lucas for the Nov. 3-4 Battle at the Beach.
